Got a video call on WLM (Windows Live Messenger) at lunchtime. It’s Mum’s birthday tomorrow, and my brother Derek and Sylvia and her kids, were visiting her. Also there was my cousin Susannah, who I’ve not been in contact with for quite some time.
We had a chat for about three quarters of an hour, and ended up discussing various cultures and lifestyles around the world from Thailand, to the Cayman Islands, the UK and the US.
We swapped details and have promised to keep in touch with each other.
So another week passes. Nothing monumental happened, but then that’s life isn’t it? It rarely does. That’s what makes Reality TV so mind numbingly boring. Just watching someone else do nothing exciting. Not that I find life boring, but I can’t see the attraction in watching other do nothing much.
It’s 12.30 am here, and I’m about to quit and go to bed, I think. I’m almost at the end of the Bio of LBJ that I’ve been reading for the last few weeks.
I’m quite a fast reader, but this is a good few hundred pages, and I really only read at night when I go to bed, certainly don’t get time to do so during the day as a rule.
Plans for the weekend? Well downtown is the Copper River Bridge Run which means traffic chaos all day! As the bridge is closed for a few hours traffic has to go all the way around I-526 so I’ll avoid that too. In the other direction it’s the Flowertown Festival in Summerville.
We’ll see what happens…
I was always taught to respect my elders, But it keeps getting harder to find one.
