The Eye

I had a rummage around in the kitchen around lunchtime, trying to think of what to make for dinner. I’m a big fan of decent fresh food, and as I was going to be working most of the afternoon, I decided to do something that, once prepared, needs little attendance - a beef stew in the crockpot.

I diced up some chuck,  also some potatoes, carrots, rutabaga and onion, and put it in the pot. On top of that went a half pint of beer, some chopped garlic, herbs, and some season salt.

On went the lid, and on went the switch, and that’s it, except for a cursory eye, and perhaps a stir later. Dinner is around 8pm.
