Clicky Web Analytics
I have joined a great service called Clicky.
So what is Clicky?
Install Clicky code onto your web site and you can get up-to-the-minute stats about your site.
It’s easy to implement. All you do is take the supplied code, and add it to your web site, and then Clicky will slurp up all that lovely data about your vistors, and present it to you on your own page in an easy to read format.
Q: Whoa! Hang on one cotton pickin’ minute! What’s wrong with Google Analytics or another service like StatCounter?
A: Well absolutely nothing except you get a whole bunch of yummy extras with Clicky.
Q: Such as?
With Clicky you can track custom data. A good example would be that you can set it up, with some extra code to track ad campaigns, so you’ll know when someone has gotten to your site from such a campaign.
You can name vistors to your site by their name instead of an IP address. Think about that one! You set up Clicky on one of your high-traffic sites, and instead of 456.32.X.999 visited 32 times in the last month (and what they did in those visits) - which you’ll have trouble remembering - you can see at a glance it was Fred Smith, who you know buys a lot of product from your sites, and says good stuff about you around town.
By using the Clicky API you can get your sites data, in one of a number of formats, which allows easy integration into whatever application you chose.
Real time goals, conversions, and campaigns are available with Clicky. You don’t get this with Google Analytics. Talking of which, Clicky Spy allows you to watch in real time who is actually on your site right this minute, and what they are doing. How cool is that? Don’t let it get addictive!
What else? Remember those ‘visitor’ tags of yesteryear? Remember the ‘hit’ counters. where you, yourself could, if you wanted to boost the number, simply sit there and keep clicking on your home page over and over? Well, Clicky gives you the option to add a visitor widget to your site, except this time, it’s an accurate up-to-the-minute reflection of exactly who is visiting your site. There are a number of different widgets you can use, depending on what you want to show your visitors. You don’t get that with Google either!
You can even get your site stats in an RSS feed. Think how much time that can save you during a busy day!
Oh, and, again, unlike Google Analytics (really I’m not picking on Google, they have some great products), Clicky will work on a site, even with Javascript disabled.
Q: OK, I’m interested. How much does this all cost?
A: There is a free plan, and a number of premium plans, and you can even create your own custom plan too. There is also an option for a white label service (which means it’s unbranded by Clicky).
Last but by no means least, there’s even an affiliate plan, so once you’ve got your account up and running, and can see just how cool Clicky is, and how many extra options you get that you didn’t know how you ever managed without, you can tell your family, friends, and business associates, and get them on board too, and earn some commission!
Want to know more? Then check out Clicky right now, and read all about their great service. I’ve only skimmed the surface in this short article about them. I’m sure you’ll enjoy reading about what they have to offer.
