College of Charleston Rockstock Festival

The inaugural Charleston Rockstock music festival, hosted by the College of Charleston’s Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, is from 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the Charleston Visitors Center Bus Terminal on John Street in downtown Charleston. The festival features three local bands: After August, Overstood and Valkyrie. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door and can be purchased at the Stern Student Center on George Street. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event, including beer and slices of pizza for $1. Proceeds will benefit the PRSSA chapter and MIMA Music, a nonprofit organization that aims to inspire students of all ages in underserved communities with a lifelong appreciation for music making. Rockstock attendees age 21 and older will receive complimentary admission with their ticket stub to the Rockstock after-party at Charleston Beer Works at 468 King St. For additional information, e-mail Jackie Kollmar.
