Easy Like Sunday Morning

Just like the song says.

Even in this mad mad high speed world we live in, I think it’s important that we all take a little time to chill out. I mean indulge in just a little “do-nothing” time. I can’t do “do-nothing” time for very long myself, but it’s still something that’s probably good to do once a week.

I don’t get a newspaper these days, not even on a Sunday. During the week, I really don’t have time to read it, and on Sunday there is so much to read, I used to find it hanging around the house until almost next Sunday. Even “do-nothing” time on a Sunday morning here, isn’t long enough to read all those multiple Sunday sections.

Now for me, do nothing time, comes right after breakfast. I’ve got to have breakfast first, or else I’m sitting thinking that I shouldn’t be doing nothing, but making or help make breakfast, and possibly feeling hungry as well anyway. So it has to come after making coffee, and having at least a little something to eat.

Some quiet relaxing music is good. Never television – that to me is just an obtrusive noise. Perhaps sitting quietly in the living room, or on a pleasant Sunday morning such as this one, an hour sitting in the sun room outside.

Sunday morning works for me, but for others perhaps one evening during the week, or on a day off. It need only be 30-60 minutes. It’s also think-nothing too, so no point sitting for an hour with a head full of worries.

Anyway, I recommend that you try it sometime. It’s good for the soul.
