It wasn't so bad when we went there in 2004. Also, you may find this hard to believe but true. It was the first, and so far, last time, I have ever been on Southend Pier!

Only not so much of a pleasure now, is it? Apart from the fine pier railway museum at the terra firma end, and a few slot machines at the other, there wasn't a great deal left standing following the two fires. Steve
