I read somewhere recently that a study has shown that if you let your tea or tea bag steep in the pot or cup for at least five minutes that it release a much higher level of anti-oxidants into the brew.
So this morning, drinking green tea for a change, I left the bag in the cup for five minutes to get the maximum benefit.
According to the study, I should be sitting here with a 47% higher level of anti-oxidants in my blood than someone who did a quick dunk.

I also read that if you drink it hotter than a certain amount it could burn your insides and make you prone to throat cancer
I'm one of the worlds worst with hot drinks. Always lukewarm when I drink 'em. I'm a glugger though not a a sipper.
Yes Janey is correct and esophageal cancer also..have to remember bec I love hot green tea!
So it probably is good for me that I let mine go half-cold!
Well, depends what your goal is. If you want to boost your immune system, there are lots of stuff you can do but in relation to a green tea bag in water, doesn't make too much difference.
I try to eat and drink more healthily, but also what I enjoy. I like green tea, and also red tea too. I've cut back on coffee, but also, I don't take sugar.
I don't drink any kind of soda either, and I have plenty of water (from the tap).
