Hurricane Smith R.I.P
I guess this is rather belated, but I remember him well back in the 70’s, both with this Gilbert O’Sullivan penned hit, and also with, perhaps the more well known ‘Oh Babe, What Would You Say?’m which was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

He was born in North London in 1923. He was a glider pilot in the RAF during World War II. He became a sound engineer in 1959, and worked on all the EMI recordings by the Beatles up to and including Rubber Soul.
In 1967, he produced some of the first Pink Floyd Albums. He also worked with Barclay James Harvest.
He died on March 4th, 2008 at the age of 85.
