Kathy’s Birthday

I was thinking about where to go for a meal for her birthday. I was thinking of trying somewhere new downtown. One good thing about Charleston being a student town, as well as a tourist town, is the fact that there are plenty of places to eat at both ends of the price spectrum.

Anyhow, she came in from work, and announced that she wanted to go to a local rib joint - Sticky Fingers. She’d got send an email which gave her a half rack free (a $13.99 value), and as we’ve got one nearby at Northwoods Mall, who was I to argue?

The food was good, they had Sam Adams White Ale, which is a decent beer (those of you who know me, know how much I hate Bud, Miller, and the other mega brews, and the lite ‘beers’. Still we didn’t go there for me - it’s her birthday after all.

After we’d eaten, we went into the Mall. I was looking to get her some perfume that is hard to come by in the stores here, but the local perfume store didn’t have it. (I’ve since researched, and found it online at a very reasonable price).

We did a little window shopping, and I saw a couple of Chinese guys doing back and shoulder massages. I’ve had really aching shoulders the last few days, and thought how much I could use one of those, and Kathy had been complaining of aches and pains - it’s all this computer work, I’m sure.

I got her twenty minutes worth. They had the seats right out in the concourse. You knelt on them, and lent forward, and placed your face on a pad with a hole in the middle, so you could look down to the floor but that was about it. While Kathy was getting here massage, I slid into Bath and Body Works, and got her some nice Jasmine & Vanilla Massage Oil and Bath and Shower Gel.

I came back, and then had ten minutes myself. I’m not sure if I felt better or not, and atthe time of writing this, some four hours later, I’m still not sure. We’ll see how it is in the morning!

After we’d finished with the massage, we walked around a little more, and Kathy found some new flip-flops in Payless for $7.99. We drove home after that, and well here I am…. not for very much longer as I’m about to quit this for the evneing, and go to bed.

I’m getting well through my latest read: An autobiography of LBJ.
