I found an online conversation amusing yesterday which started about keyboards. A British lady living in the US was complaining about US keyboards being “weird”, and she refused to use one, and got one sent over from the UK.
This struck me as a bit weird in itself. It’s a bit like those who move to a new country and refuse to learn its language or customs. I could have understood her attitude if she was a visit for say a month or two. No need to learn new key positions then.
The other attitude that bugs me is that the others are all wrong. It’s not a question of anyone being right or wrong; it’s merely a question of difference. In the keyboard example, what use would a UK keyboard be to the average person in the USA? They don’t need a pound or Euro sign usually!
