Yet another micro-blogging service along the lines of Twitter?

I got an invite this morning. It links into ping.fm which is really useful for those quick posts on the go, when really busy at the computer, or when walking down the street even.

Kwippy is writen in Python, and uses MySQL databases to hold the information.

There are a number of useful features that are not there yet; primary one for me would be a way to input stuff to Kwippy on the go - I like being able to use SMS for these kind of services, when I’m away from the computer.

Still, I’ll give it a try, and see where we head with this. It’s obviously going to get compared to Twitter, whose success seems to have overtaken them of late; and Indenti.ca, another similar service.
