A parking space in the Cornish resort of St Ives is on the market for £24,000, (US$48K) twice the average salary in the town.
That’s gotta suck big time, when you turn up to find some inconsiderate pig, has parked in it already? What does one do to stop this happening? Hire an armed guard? You can probably afford to, if you’re prepared to pay that much for the space in the first place.
Reminds of the story about the lock-up the size of a broom cupboard that was up for sale in the West End of London a few years ago, for crazy money. Then again you kind of expect this sort of nonsense in London, but St. Ives? I know it’s a pretty tourist town – I’ve been there myself – but even so!
