I have spent all my life trying to see people for their values and other attributes, regardless of their creed, color, or origins.
Having lived in more than one country, I hate it when people generalize about another whole country, or a group or people within that country.
I know that we can all be guilty of stereotyping, and of having unfounded prejudices towards other groups of people, but I really try to see everyone as an individual.
So, I’m trying to see Barack Obama as a man that hopefully will bring some real changes to this great nation, and not just from the angle that he’s America’s first black president.
That in itself wouldn’t mean much if he missed the opportunity to bring about at least some of the changes necessary to make America’s lights shine brightly at home and in the world at large once more.
