RCA CT-100Now, although I’m not a fan of television (I probably watch, on average, about 2-3 hours a month), I do find the history of the medium to be of interest.

It was fifty four years ago today that RCA bought their first color television to the consumer market. At around $1,000, that’s equivalent to nearer $8,000 today, and look at what you can get for that kind of money now.  It was only a 15 inch screen, and most of us consider a 15 inch computer monitor to be too small nowadays. It was prone to ghosting and blurring, and was really only within the reach of the rich that like to go for the leading edge technology of the day.

While the technology has gotten better and better in leaps and bounds,  it’s a shame that the content of the programming seems to have gone in the opposite direction.
