Stella Awards

This year’s runaway First Place Stella Award winner was:

Mrs.Merv Grazinski, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma , who purchased a new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home from an OU football game, having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the driver’s seat to go to the back of the Winnebago to make
herself a sandwich.

Not surprisingly, the motor home left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Also not surprisingly, Mrs. Grazinski sued Winnebago for not putting in the owner’s manual that she couldn’t actually leave the driver’s seat while the cruise control was set.

The Oklahoma jury awarded h er, are you sitting down, $1,750,000 PLUS a new motor home. Winnebago actually changed their manuals as a result of
this suit, just in case Mrs. Grazinski has any relatives who might also buy a motor home.

Are we, as a society, getting more stupid…????

Shame the story is completely untrue. A great fictional read tho.
  • Just for entertainment! A bit like Fox News really.

IT COULD ONLY HAPPEN IN AMERICA THE PURCHASER WAS DUMB THE LAW COURTS WERE DUMB AND THE MOTORHOME MANUFACTURER WAS DUMB TO PAY OUT

It could be that the story is not completely true. However, as a world traveler, that is only in the USA where extremely abnormal events take place:
-A judge in Oklahoma has been caught masturbating during a homicide trial
-To participate in the Olympics Tanya Harding ex-husband hired someone who tried to brake Nacy Kerrigan's legs during a training session
-In Seattle: The state Supreme Court has suspended Theresa Olson, a lawyer caught having jailhouse sexual relations with a triple-murder defendant she was representing, for two years!
    - The brutal killing of AnnLe AT WORK(Univ of Yale Lab)
These are only few examples. Without being disrespectful I believe that USA has some long way to civilize and have a normal life.

This story is a hoax! Do not believe everything you read, especially when it is so easy to check out the validity of a story using the Internet.
  • Oh yes, I already mentioned above that it was for entertainment only.
