Did you know that toasters are banned in Cuba? They are along with large screen televisions, and aid conditioning.
A wide range of electrical goods were banned in Cuba in the 1990′s after the collapse of the Soviet Union led to a severe engery crisis.
That was partially resolved in 2006 by a deal that Cuba did with it’s oil-rich Latin American partner, Venezuela.
They are on the cards to be re-allowed by 2010, after Raul Castro started to ease restrictions recenly.
