Happy Weekend!
There’s some great stuff coming up:
Smuttynose Big A IPA Cask with The Glass Onion – Saturday 10/9
Join us tomorrow (Saturday) for the 2pm gravity tapping of a Smuttynose cask (firkin)! This one is the ever popular Big A IPA but with a special twist: It has been dry hopped with Simcoe, Centennial, Santium and Cascade hops along with a nice French Oak treatment! Remember, unlike our regular growler fills, real cask ale is highly perishable and must be consumed the same day so plan accordingly. This cask is sure to sell out quickly so don’t procrastinate (or at least don’t blame us when it’s all gone).
To tantalize your taste buds while picking up your Smutty growler, Sarah from The Glass Onion will be on hand from 1:30 to 3:00pm offering some free, delicious finger sandwiches and raffling off a ticket to their COAST Beer Dinner next week along with some other great prizes! During this event, anybody who makes a reservation for the COAST/Sustainable Seafood Dinner happening this Tuesday (10/12) at The Glass Onion will be entered into the raffle! Along with the first place dinner ticket, you could also win a growler of COAST HopArt or a Glass Onion gift certificate! For more details, click here.
Glass Onion Sustainable Seafood Dinner with COAST Brewing (10/12)
Even if you can’t make the cask tapping to sign up for your chance at a free seat to the dinner, you can still call to make your reservations the old fashioned way: Tuesday, October 12th, The Glass Onion will host a Sustainable Seafood Initiative dinner with COAST Brewery. David Merritt and Jaime Tenny, brewer and owners of COAST, will be on hand to discuss their beers paired with a four course seafood menu. Beers featured in this dinner include the 32/50 Kolsch, HopArt IPA, Event Horizon Cascadian Dark Ale and vintage 2009 Red Legs Scotch Ale! Sure to be a wonderful evening! Visit http://www.ilovetheglassonion.com for menu and additional information or call (843) 225-1717 to make your reservations!

St. Patrick’s Day Special
Wishing everyone a very happy St. Patrick’s Day from The Charleston Beer Exchange! To celebrate they are offering growler fills of COAST Brewing’s Dry Irish Style Stout (aka DIS Stout) for only $9.50 on Tuesday while it lasts! First come, first serve. Don’t miss this steal of a deal. What better way to celebrate than a delicious, organic, hometown favorite?!?
Rare Beer Tuesday
As if that wasn’t enough, they’ll be tapping a special keg at 5pm for their weekly “Rare Beer Tuesday” growler release at CBX! Their feature this week will be Avery/Russian River “Collaboration Not Litigation” Ale. This beer came about when two top American breweries discovered they both had a beer with the same name. Instead of a legal battle they decided to blend them together and release an altogether new beer! Thus “Collaboration Not Litigation” was born. It is a Belgian Strong Dark Ale weighing in at just under 9% ABV. This will be one of only a few draft appearances of this beer in the Southeast. Get it while you can!
Growler Station Upgrade
They are very excited to announce that they have added three more taps to the growler station and now have nine offerings for growlers at any given time! You thought it was hard to choose before. Go check this out!
Call or email anytime with questions.
Cheers,
