Another day another dollar, so the saying goes.
I guess this is true, well for most days of the week for most of us, it needs to be. Like it or not money makes the world go round.
Today was a mixed bag really.
Started off going downtown to take Kathy to the VA for a follow up appointment, which worked out just fine. While she was getting herself examined, I headed to Mount Pleasant to see a couple of clients,who needed some attention.
Then back to the office, and some web work this afternoon, and then rustled up some early dinner, and then off to one of my favorite watering holes around here – Madra Rua in North Charleston, for a Tweet Meet, and Blog get-together.
A nice cold Guinness coming up!

09 Apr 08 Hump Day
Wednesday. Kathy calls it hump day. Downhill until the weekend she says. A way to get through the week I guess, if you’re having a bad one, but I’ve never really seen a week as something to be endured. Well, perhaps sometimes.
For most of my working life I’ve worked all different days of the week, indeed all hours of the day and night. I’ve never truly been used to a Monday – Friday, 9-5 routine, and I think it’s a bit too late to think about settling into one now!
I’ve been oversee a major server move for a client, so there has been some issues to deal with. It’s not been helped by a lack of patience and understanding by some of the ‘management’ at this client, who don’t understand how things work behind the scenes.
Touch wood, it all seems to have gotten sorted now. DNS has fully propagated, and some email issues have been resolved.
I’ve not been 100% pleased with the support from the hosting company, but then again, I’ve not been pleased with the confused and messy way the client has put the whole project together. Management are supposed to manage and not just interfere – but that comes with knowledge, which, quite simply, with this client, they don’t have in most IT areas.
Later today, I get to go out for a while to see a new prospect, so at least for a part of today, I get away from my desk!
For now, I shall take five, and get myself some more coffee!
