So back to the usual stuff!

Today it’s time to do some laundry after the water pipes to the garage were frozen yesterday. Woke up to 21F here yesterday morning, but today it’s a balmy 37!
So I put the smaller stuff in the dryer, and I got the larger stuff, and put it on the washing line.
In my opinion, clothes are always better for a good dose of fresh air, drying on the line in the back yard, than tumbling around in the heat of a dryer.
I think all that tumble drying wears your clothes out quicker too.
Anyway, drying in the fresh air saves a shedload of electricity as well, so it can’t be a bad thing to do.
Isn’t using wind power supposed to be a good thing these days anyway?
Perhaps we should look at bring back wind power for many more applications?
Some say I’ve always got too much wind, but that’s not nice is it?

Why does everything seem to go wrong on Mondays? I remember writing on this topic just last week.
Services that were once a luxury, such as telephone, and even electricity are now seen as necessities and for many the Internet falls into that category too. It certainly does for those of us that rely on the connectivity to earn a few pennies each day!
This morning, no Internet. That means no phone too, when you use VOIP. That’s not so bad, as mine is set up to forwardto my cellphone if there’s a net outage anyway. Although I can check my emails on my cellphone, it’s not a full web browser, and not the best way to try and reply.
Fortunately, I was off to visit a client this morning anyway, so I’ve been able to purloin a spare computer of theirs to do some other tasks that needed doing this morning.
Heck it was only yesterday, that I was commenting that ‘we’ve never had it so good” as far as the Internet goes. I guess, I put a jinx on things, and today’s citywide outage is all my fault!

I have always felt fall to be a mixed blessing. It can be a beautiful time of the year in certain areas with the gold, and brown leaves falling off the trees. When I worked on the railroad, it was a huge curse, as the leaves got ground into a slimy mulch by the train wheels, and it became akin to driving on black ice. At times you could lose all traction, which caused many problems when trying to stop, particularly with the newer lighter units.
Here, in the south, the daytime temperatures are still into the 80′s. At night it’s generally getting a little cooler, down into the mid 60′s which means some savings on the electricity bill, as we can turn the air conditioning off for twelve hours or so at night, and into the next morning.
The evenings are getting shorter too. I’ve always enjoyed the longer days of summer, even though here that not as long as further north; it does mean the winter ones aren’t so short either.
