
Brian Wilde, who played prison officer Mr Barraclough in the classic UK sitcom, Porridge, before he went onto to star as Foggy, in the
world’s longest running sitcom ‘Last of the Summer Wine’, has died at the age of 80.
Last of the Summer Wine, has been on British TV since 1973, and Brian had joined in 1976, and with a break between 1985 and 1990, was with the show until 1997.
Porridge starred the late Ronnie Barker, and was based in a fictitious UK prison. Brian was born in Lancashire in 1927.
