Becoming yet another unpleasant statistic, Thusha Kamaleswaran, aged 5, is possibly the youngest person to be a victim of gun crime in London. She is currently in a critical condition after being shot in the chest in a corner store in Stockwell, South London, on Tuesday evening. The shopkeeper was shot in the head. The perpetrators are understood to be three youths between the ages of 14-17.

Craig Brown, aged 20, was shot to death in a West London street on Christmas Eve after returning from a shopping trip.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service
His attackers shot him before making off on foot. The Metropolitan Police are dealing with the murder as part of Operation Trident - who are a police team dedicated to investigating gun crime within the black community.
Teen crime as a whole has been in the rise in recent years in the UK, much of it gang-related, and committed with knives or guns. More than 70 teenagers have been murdered as a result of violent crime in the UK in 2008
