Not one for going on about it, or ever wanting to get labled a diet-nit or a food faddist, but I’ve keep under my daily guidelines now for the last five days.

I’ve found some major ways are to eat less bread, and drink less beer, and fill up on fruits. OK, not news to many of you of course, and not even to me now, but it’s easier said than done sometimes.

Still I go into another week on a positive note. I’m doing this as much to try and eat more healthily as to lose weight, so even if the pounds aren’t going down very quickly, I’m still pleased.

The urges to pig out at the Waffle House at 1am have gotten a lot less.

29 Jan 08 Five A Day – The Easy Way

  • Put whole fresh fruit into a bowl on the counter. It’s easy to see, and to remember to eat!
  • Keep dried fruits about.
  • For a TV snack, use dips of low-fat sour cream, and chop up carrots etc.
  • Get pre-cut melons and fruit cups from the local supermarket
