The first week has certainly gone quickly.
When I first got back, I wasn’t at all sure if it was what I should have done. Then again the jet lag drags one down, and everything was strangely familiar, yet strange too. I felt like an alien in my country.
I rediscovered foods that I’d dreamt about when Stateside, and some that I’d forgotten about too.
After a week, I’m beginning to overcome some of the stumbling blocks. Like the US, the UK has gone ID mad. Proving who you are, is sometimes proving difficult, when you’ve been ‘off the radar’ here for almost seven years. Again it’s like you’re an alien in your own country.
Still these things will work out, and it will all settle down. Officialdom hasn’t caught up with worldwide travel and movements though. Each country is still insulated, in that your life in a previous country doesn’t exist.
