The airport is only a mile and a half from where I live, and of course planes are landing and taking off all the time, although I rarely notice them. Here’s a video I found that shows planes landing at sunset.

Coffee is back in London. Did it ever go away? Like good beer, it became harder to find for a long time, but good coffee is back on the menu, and these days, one doesn’t have to go far to find a really good cup of joe.
A world apart from the ubiquitous chains, independent coffee shops aren’t hard to find.
03 Jun 12 A Quiet Morning
Midday Sunday. Unusually quiet on the roads around this part of suburban west London so far.
I guess the vast majority of people are either sitting at home watching the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations on television; have braved the crush in central London, and gone to watch, or have escaped city or indeed country altogether.
After all, although there has been a huge revival in the Royal’s fan base, not everyone is by any means an ardent royalist of course.
