I know this is probably old hat to many of you. The thing is, there is just so much out there online now, it’s impossible to find everything. Anyway, I found Meetup
It’s different to most social media sites, in that this one encorages you to get off your rear end, and go out and do other, mostly non-computer related stuff, outside the home, and meet new people in person.
I’ve already joined eight groups, and RSVPed that I will attend 4 meetings over the next few weeks.
If The Eye goes a bit slient you’ll know why. I’m having a blast out there somewhere…

I don’t much care for meetings in general. I feel that after a meeting you should feel enlightened, informed, uplifted, motivated. You should have had your questions answered, and been able to answer at least some of the questions of others.
That’s more often that not, NOT the case. You come out wondering what it was all about, and what a huge waste of time it was.
Most times I attend meetings simply because someone is paying me to do to so.
Tha t perhaps sounds awfully negative, but it’s a fact.
