Checks undertaken on just three of the London Underground’s twelve lines reveal that passengers leave 9.5 tons of newspapers on the trains each day. The amount has risen hugely since a free daily paper war commenced between the major newspaper companies.

How many wasted trees is that? How much pollution in making all those papers? Where’s Al Gore? Send him to London!
