A hotel chain is atoning for the “no room at the inn” story of Christmas by offering couples called Mary and Joseph free accommodation.
Pairs with the right names will get a night’s stay on the house at a Travelodge hotel from Christmas Eve to January 5 2008. Claimants will have to be married and will also have to register on a special email address and then send proof of identity.
Travelodge operations director Jason Cotta said: “The phrase ‘no room at the inn’ is something that resonates with us in the hotel business.
“Therefore this year we have decided to evoke the true spirit of Christmas and invite Mary and Joseph couples as our guests.”
