That was unquestionably the signature tune and for what Isaac Hayes will most be remembered. He died today in Memphis Tennessee at the age of 65. His family reported that he was receiving treatment for a number of medical issues at the time of his death.
The theme from the film of the same name was a number one hit in 1971. Isaac also won an Academy Award for the song and was nominated for another one for the score. The song and score won him two Grammys as well.
He was famous in the 80′s for playing Chef in South Park.
He was married four times, and had twelve children.
