Perhaps I take too simple a view here. I don’t know.
Anyway, my thought is this. If you’re in love with someone of your own sex, and you want to have the same legal rights as my wife and I do, why the hell does it hurt me in any way if you do? It’s not like you’re taking anything away from me to give to you is it?
I don’t care what your religion teaches you. That is for you to decide, not the Government. You have to live with any theological conflicts. Also did I miss something or doesn’t the constitution state, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” So surely, that means that no Government in this country can decide an issue based on any religious doctrine?
Finally, I really don’t care about your sexuality, it’s yours, not mine. I hope you’re happy together.
