Another of the dangers of cutting down too many trees…

Decided that as it was a nice afternoon it was high time to get away from the computer for a while, and do some exercise, so we went to Wannamaker County Park on University Boulevard in North Charleston for a couple of hours.
It’s only $1 each to get in, and there’s always room to park, and it’s a pleasant walk around.
There’s a nature trail you can take if you fancy a walk in the trees, or you can stay on the path.
You can rent bikes if you prefer, or a canoe on the lake.
There is a refreshment room there, serving hot and cold drinks and hot dogs and chips, and ice cream.
There’s also a large water fountain you can play in (or even cool off in after the walk), and there’s also Whirling Waters Fun Park, but that’s an extra charge not included in the $1 general admission to the park

- Enjoying a nice cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage, egg, baked beans and French toast
- Sitting for an hour doing nothing except listening to a CD full of old tunes
- As I put the trash out, listening to the birds singing in the trees, and feeling in the midst of nature, even though there is a 6 lane highway just a few yards away, an Interstate behind that, an airport and military airbase beyond that, and, in the other direction, a railroad line that has a lot of freight trains on it.
