A great evening indeed. Kathy and I got there really early – almost three quarters of an hour early. One reason was that I picked her up from work, and drove straight there, and I-26 is an easy journey going downtown in the evening, unlike in the other direction. The other reason was that we knew there would be limited parking and had a vision of 20-30 people turning up, and all nearby parking spots gone.
As it happened we found a place to park really close by, and as we’d not eaten dinner, went ahead and ordered some food before the meeting.
Their iced coffee was excellent. Just the right strength in my opinion; as Kathy will tell you, I like it with a bit of a kick.
We each ordered salads. Kathy ordered a spinach and goat cheese one, I went for the Mediterranean. We were both very pleased with what we got, even though they forgot to add the grilled chicken we asked for (we did get that a little later, and before we’d eaten the salad, along with a free bag of chips as an apology).
There were eight of us there altogether.
It was our first meeting with this group, but Rachelle seemed to have her finger on the button, and makes a very good group leader. We all had a great time chatting and swapping stories, and it was a very pleasant evening, spent in very pleasant company, and away from the computer!
We’re certainly looking forward to the next one, but meanwhile hope to see some of the group at the next Palmetto Acoustic meetup at Muddy Waters in West Ashley next Thursday evening.
