A deadly line of thunderstorms that swept through from Louisiana to North Carolina last evening left a total of 12 people dead.

8 people died in Riegelwood, NC, about 20 miles west of Wilmington, when a tornado flipped cars, shredded trees, and ripped mobile homes to pieces in the small riverside community. It struck without warning around 6.30am

A man was killed in Louisiana on Wednesday when a tornado struck his home, and in South Carolina a utility worker checking power lines was electrocuted.
