Zimbabwean Election
The US Government has expressed concern about the fairness of the elections, particularly as all US and western European electoral observers have been banned from the country. Also of concern is the Zimbabwean government’s decision to allow police into polling stations – ostensibly to assist illiterate and infirm voters. Although Mugabe has an appalling record when it comes to human rights, let alone free elections, Western governments do little more than posture, no doubt because there are are no extensive oilfields in the country. As Mugabe, is 84, one can only hope he’s not much longer for this world. |
